该剧改编自朝井麻由美的同名随笔作品，以“享受单身生活”为主题，江口饰演探索“单身活”的出版社员工五月女恵，“单身活”意为“积极地享受个人时间的活动”。在剧中五月将只身一人去到各种地方，享受珍贵的个人时间。
