在这部讲述家庭与亲情的电视剧《幸福》中,刘佩琦扮演了一个中年丧妻,独自带着四个孩子生活的父亲,命运可谓十分倒霉,赚尽观众眼泪。刘佩琦表示,虽然角色遭遇的苦难不具有普遍性,但通过自己扮演的角色,会使观众联想到底层平民的生活状态。“现在随着经济的发展,人们对待生活和亲情的认识也在不自觉的情况下开始改变。”刘佩琦说,在过去的年代那种亲友邻里间真挚质朴的情感,如今变得理智,冷漠。谈及这部《幸福》,刘佩琦表示在本剧中幸福的解释并不是指人们有多少财产,“幸福的含义是他拥有亲情,那才是上帝给予的最好礼物。”对此,李立群也表示,全剧也正是从苦难的生活中展现出幸福。
