故事讲述光绪与珍妃转世投胎后在现代发生的故事。珍妃（吕有慧）投井死后成为阴间游魂，谈吐易举止雍容有度，因要求甚高，故流连鬼界近百年，深明做鬼之道，常常苦口婆心，点化新鬼，因而被邀成仙。升仙之前，查悉哈啸天乃光绪皇转世，念夫情切，宁放弃升仙也要与夫相众聚。哈啸天刘绍铭的前世是光绪皇帝。珍妃死后一直找不到光绪。杨巧儿（郑裕玲）把珍妃打扮成现代新潮模样珍妃很难接受。珍妃看到路上被挖的路误以为是井被吓得花容失色。哈啸天的前世资料就在历代帝王录清代中。虽然总是和珍妃一见面就吵架哈啸天不知不觉已认定了珍妃的存在。珍妃从天庭向人间洒下花朵。哈啸天不由地走到公园的井从中竟看到他前世的模样。哈啸天从井中看到选妃实况。哈啸天看到前世的珍妃被打入冷宫。前世的珍妃和光绪在御花园游玩。吕有慧饰演的珍妃迟迟未轮回投胎。剧中插曲感人，内容是转世的光绪皇回忆前世与珍妃在一起的时光。
