这部将时代背景转换到现代的福尔摩斯故事，地点也放到了美国纽约城，可以说基本和原作已经相去甚远了。故事讲述了Sherlock Homles一位苏格兰警视厅的前顾问，因为药瘾问题来到纽约的康戒中心修养，在生活重新回到正轨后和一名叫Joan Watson（刘玉玲饰演）的前急救医师生活在布鲁克林。当然了，这位Watson也有着自己的问题。
