CBS早前宣布开发《生活大爆炸》衍生前传剧，現CBS确定命名为《少年谢尔顿 Young Sheldon》，顾名思义就是以Sheldon Cooper 为主角。但该剧不是Sheldon成年版，而是以他9岁时为背景，剧集也会以《马尔柯姆的一家 Malcolm in the Middle》的单镜头家庭喜剧方式制作，讲述Sheldon当年在德州东部的家庭及学校生活。Chuck Lorre与Bill Prady为主创兼执行制片﹑Steve Molaro﹑Todd Spiewak与在《生活大爆炸》饰演Sheldon的Jim Parsons为制作人兼执行制片。在过往剧情中，可得知Sheldon的家人包括哥哥George﹑异卵双胞胎姐妹Missy﹑有宗教信仰的妈妈Mary Cooper，以及酗酒的爸爸George Cooper。另外Sheldon还有外婆（Meemaw）及外公（Pop Pop），外公在Sheldon 5岁时去世。该剧由Jon Favreau执导， Iain Armitage将饰演年轻版的Sheldon Cooper﹑ Zoe Perry饰演其母亲Mary Cooper﹑Lance Barber饰演Sheldon的父亲﹑Raegan Revord及Montana Jordan饰演Sheldon的兄妹（姐？）﹑Annie Potts饰演外婆。
本作的主人公，是人气乐队Indigo AREA的成员·金石？朱尼。祖国的结局？故事从在韩国遭受挫折来到日本的朱尼，收到了作为恋人的主唱的退出宣言开始。受到了几乎要消失的打击的朱尼，连SNS和音乐都变得害怕，抛出一切去海边的小镇。于是，朱尼溜出了狭隘的价值观世界，抓住了生活中不可缺少的人与人之间的联系。
