该剧讲述8位单身男女，以单身为入住条件住进统一化管理的单身公寓，在这座公寓中，恋爱被禁止，单身被提倡，一旦谁破坏规则，则会被剔除出单身公寓。故事走向整体设定融入大量真人秀元素，大有真实版“饥饿游戏”的趋势。同时，剧中虽然是看似普通的若干位“单身贵族”，但他们每个人背后却有着不为人知的秘密，隐藏身份的富二代作家、感情受挫的女插画师、卧底单身公寓的警察，一系列性格迥异的人物，上演精彩纷呈的故事。
Discovery频道的《追缉：炸弹客 Manhunt: Unabomber》虽然影评及观众数上都有不错的表现，不过Discovery频道CEO David Zaslav表示他们要退出剧集领域改为重新专注在真人秀类节目，最终此剧转交到电视台Spectrum Originals。
