唐朝代宗广德元年（763年），华佗的后人小大夫华星为救父亲华德之命，前往长安找父亲的故交伊太医索要救命中药。来到风凌镇，遭遇护送名斧“八卦宣花斧”前往京城送交皇帝的“刺客联盟”章楠一行和逃婚的伊莉，一同卷入绿林帮抢夺宝斧的风波:据说拥有宝斧，就能拥有权力和魔力，一统天下。与此同时，小镇出现了疑似瘟疫传染病，致使古镇沦陷，很多人成为疫毒者。华星寻找病因源头的同时，和伊莉、邵白、李梦蝶等人组成了团队，经历了各种生死离别以及搞笑逗乐的事件。简单概括为：小大夫和他的小伙伴们“英雄侠胆”打丧尸，“悬壶济世”救世人。
