【创作背景】
1840年，一个风雨交加的夜晚，泉州知府萧玉堂夫妇中年得子，不料生下一个肉团。萧夫人惊骇而亡，萧玉堂悲愤交加，命仆人将这一肉团丢弃。一药翁飘然而至剖开胞衣，一声惊天动地的啼哭，虚云就这样来到了人间，由此开始了他长达一百二十年，经历四十八奇的求道旅程。

祝英台（梁小冰饰）女扮男装远赴尼山书院求学，途中与乐善助人的梁山伯（罗志祥饰）相识，二人惺惺相惜义结金兰。在尼山书院中，马文才（陈嘉辉饰）心狠手辣，路秉章（霍正奇饰）嫉恶如仇，娄敬文（九孔饰）老是因英台娘娘腔而嘲笑她。所有日常的吃喝拉撒睡，甚至洗澡都是大伙儿一起行动，原为女儿身的英台因此闹了不少笑话。为了使自己不被人识破，英台跟男生一同吐口水，开口说粗话、打架、踢球，处处表现得比男人还男人。一连串令人拍案叫绝的搞笑故事由此展开。
